Pig Out Mooresville is a group of churches and volunteers who serve a hot meal to 250 people EVERY SUNDAY! The group is signing up to help with the WHOLE weekend. This is a big task, and there is plenty for our awesome, active group to help on Saturday and Sunday. Please check the website and SIGN UP DIRECTLY ON THE PIG OUT SITE.

There are many ways to help even if you can't attend:
1. Donate directly to Pig Out. It costs $350-400 each weekend to serve these meals. You can make a tax deductible donation to "Common Ground Mooresville".
2. Make cookies! - Each week they hand out homemade cookies . Simply make your favorite kind of cookie, pack them in ziplock, 1 or 2 to a bag and arrange to deliver that week before the meal.
3. Come and serve! Again, sign up directly on the Pig Out site. Kids can help with everything EXCEPT serving in the pink truck. Parents must be with their children the whole time during volunteering.
Cooking the meal will be from 10-1 pm on Saturday at Faith United Methodist Church.
Mt. Mourne is holding a 3v3 middle school basketball tournament to raise funds for Mt. Mourne IB Athletics. They are looking for individuals to help referee, keep score and a few other items.

The Stand Firm Warrior Foundation is a local, nonprofit organization dedicated to helping fight childhood cancer. Their goal is to support pediatric cancer research focused on alternative treatments to chemotherapy and radiation. They need volunteers for their March Forth Run. It is a 5k and 15k run held March 2. 2019, 7:00a at 2100 Hwy 16 North, in Denver, NC.

The Mooresville Kindness Closet's mission is to spread kindness to the community by providing basic household and hygiene items that are not covered by government assistance. Anyone may come and take items that they need for no cost during the park hours (sunrise to sunset). **Please note that the closet does not supply food, clothing, books, or toys. The mission of Special Olympics is to provide year-round sports training and athletic competition in a variety of Olympic-type sports for children and adults with intellectual disabilities, giving them continuing opportunities to develop physical fitness, demonstrate courage, experience joy and participate in a sharing of gifts, skills and friendship with their families, other Special Olympics athletes and the community.
Special Olympics aims to combine high quality sports with a wide audience, and be a driving force for social inclusion of people with intellectual disabilities.

Come volunteer for a Teen Shift at the Mission volunteering alongside with your peers to help our community. Tasks will include sorting and stocking canned food for distribution in our Pantry:

Students must be 13+ years of age to volunteer (without a chaperone) in our warehouse areas and 16+ to volunteer in our pantry distribution area. We also require a minimum of three volunteers to be registered for our Teen Shifts to be held.
